LIGHT DUTY RESTRAINT STRAPS

Application:

Parkes light duty straps should be used for vertical restraint of roof trusses, rafters and or wallplates to masonry walls.

Installation:

  • Parkes light duty vertical straps should be at least 900mm long.
  • Where the straps are fixed to masonry either hardened nails or wood screws and plugs should be used.
  • The lowest fixing should be no more than 150mm from the bottom of the strap.

Variations:

As standard, light duty straps are manufactured in increments of 100mm, starting at 300mm over all. Standard bend and twist options fall at either 100mm or 150mm.

Other overall lengths and alternative bend and twist options are available as special order.

Material:

Parkes light duty straps are manufactured from pre galvanised mild steel.

HEAVY DUTY RESTRAINT STRAPS

Application:

Parkes heavy duty straps are used in the lateral restraint of roof trusses, rafters and or joists being tied to masonry walls.

Installation:

  • Parkes heavy duty straps should be spaced and fixed at no more than 2m centres.
  • They should be fixed to a minimum of 3 timber members, either trusses are joists.

Variations:

As standard, heavy duty straps are manufactured in increments of 100mm, starting at 300mm over all. Standard bend and twist options fall at either 100mm or 150mm.

Other overall lengths and alternative bend and twist options are available as special order.

Material:

Parkes heavy duty strap is manufactured from continuously hot dipped galvanised mild steel.
